Ok- the car is back in the shop. The tech scanned and sent me the below saying all of the circled items are reporting a short to ground error- intermittent. Any ideas?

TIA

Fuel Pump Relay, common problem with all vag cars.

There is nothing to check with the relay, it is an intermitant short internally. And causes faults. Make sure to buy a REAL oem one, the aftermarket ones seem to be worse then the crap oem ones

All those errors off of ONE relay?!?!?

I was thinking moisture in the ECU?

Yes all from one relay!

All those items are powered up from the fuel pump relay

Didn't he just have the engine out? Forget to connect or tighten a ground strap? I know I did and paid for it dearly...

^Can you provide some mo details of your issue? Yes- my engine was out (a few times) for the turbo repair and had just been put back in when this issue popped up. Thank you.

Another strange thing, when I have the cruise on and hit the left blinker, the cruise cancels.

There is a very large ground strap on the passenger side that goes from under the frame rail to the starter mounting bolt. I missed this the first time I put my engine back in, very hard to get to and easy to miss. When I went to start the car, it turned over but smoke was wisping up by the fire wall....uh oh...the turbo cooling line was touching the heat shielding by the trans tunnel ( only way for current to get back to the battery) and burned a hole in my slainless turbo cooling line, melting the teflon inside.... drip drip drip...engine back out to fix that...The only other grounds that I can recall are in the cowl, where all the power wires are and the ECU tray..along with some other relays...rummage around...you'll find something...

^Thanks for the info Boost! Ouch on the experience!

I will have them try the fuel relay pump and double check the ground strap tomorrow.

Put a new fuel pump relay in and short to ground problem persisted. They located a bad connection at the fuse box upon further research. All short to ground errors are gone. Thanks for the input guys!

The FPR seems to be rather common lately... is there a photo or location of this lovely relay?
