We picked up the car on Friday Nov 4 after the 6 month repair odyssey. Packed the car up and off to Barber Motorsport we went for the track weekend. We took a leap of faith the car would run correct. We made it to Barber (about a 6 hour trip) Friday night.

Saturday morning driver meeting at 7:00. That left enough time to change the tires to the Hoosier track tires, and some final preps. The first session was driven relatively cautiously listening for any odd sounds. The car seemed to run good (for a 8 year old, 4 door, 150K miles, 2 ton plus size) so I was off to the races for the following sessions. However; long story short- after the second session I was inspecting the tires, and found an inside front tire was down to the steel core after two sessions (the Hoosier tire had lasted a grand total of 10 track sessions and this included "flipping" the tires before this weekend). I had to run the remaining sessions on the Hankook tires. To say the least- huge difference and some tire barking will be heard. Not my best driving. However; considering I haven't driven the thing in essentially 6 months, I was happy to return home without any off track adventures.

The Barber Motorsport Park complex is incredible with manicured everthing. It was a very fun weekend with a great mix of cars.

Red meat for the hounds- The following is one of the sessions with the camera on the front of the hood. I'll compile a video of some clips from the other sessions when I have the opportunity.

Looks great MadMax. Sounds like you may have the bugs out (knocking on wood while crossing fingers). Did you have on the Hoosiers on this session?

^Hankooks during the above vid..

Ben:
Yes- That was a 1990 Ford Taurus SHO and had some mods. Several times during the weekend, he was vedy slow to give a point by when I filled his rear view. The flag workers Blue flagged (telling him to point me by) him multiple times. After one such pass, I looked in my rear view and saw him go completely sideways as he pushed it trying to keep up with Crazy.

^I think it was Sideline sports taking the pics. However; I don't exactly recall and it seems like they said they were not going to put them on the web. However; my wife took some pics and they are at the below:

Glad to hear you're back on the road. Thanks for the video's, it's fun to relive track days.
I've retired my RS6 from track duty, so I've got a fairly new set of Pilot Sport Cups sitting in the basement with your name on them.

Session #1- A driver loses it on first yellow lap of the weekend on Turn 4- Bangs up the side a bit- he continued on for the weekend. Later in the session, an ariel atom spins on Turn 17- goes into the wall on the front straight (not on vid) and cause of the black flag and delay. It was a busy first session...00
