I've just replaced the outer CV joint rubber boot on the left front tire, but can't find the correct torque settings for the big bolt that goes right on the center and holds everything together, as the Bentley Manual on Section 40-17 only states "M14 Bolt: 115nm (85lb-ft) plus additional 180° (1/2 turn) and M16 Bolt: 190nm (140lb-ft) plus additional 180° (1/2 turn), but nowhere in the bolt states which one it is, only thing I know for shure is that we removed it with a 17 mm. Allen wrench. Also, does it need to be replaced every time you take it off, as the Manual says?. Another thing: the big receptacle shows a big, blueish semi-circle on the outside where each of the bearings go, possible heat related; Is this normal, or the CV joint has to be replaced? wear seems ok , not too loose, not too tight. your help would be very appreciated. Thank you.

Tightening torque for M16 bolt:
Initial tightening torque: 120 Nm
Tightening torque: Turn 200 Nm and 180° further
Vehicle must be standing on ground when tightening

Can You make a photo of Your CV area ?

You should replace it. They stretch. Didn't the CV boot kit come with a new bolt?

Measure the outside dimension of the threaded part of the bolt. If it's ~14mm, use that torque.
