These have been showing up on eBay in quanitiy in the last 2 weeks: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AUDI-RNS-E-HD-Navigation-system-2001-2004-A6-S6-and-RS6-NEW-FULL-WARRANTY-/290628109461?hash=item43aac90495&item=290628109461&pt=Car_Audio_Video&vxp=mtr

It looks like an RSN-E, but it is a replica made in China. I wonder how well it works? The price is decent, but who knows what happens after delivery...

Let's see, $750, they have a feedback of Zero. I wouldn't take a chance. Now maybe if it was around $200.

Okay, so here is one from a seller with decent feedback: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-2004-Audi-RS6-Car-GPS-Navigation-Bluetooth-IPOD-Radio-DVB-T-TV-DVD-Player-/270844838625?pt=Car_Audio_Video&vxp=mtr&hash=item3f0f9c42e1

These sellers don't build the radios so its difficullt to determine from the feedback if the product or the sellers service is rated.

I had experience with one of those but for my old GTI. Unit worked great and was very inexpensive (bought for $425 new and sold for $350). It did require finding software and setting it up yourself. You do take a risk simply buying it though... Some revisions are better than others and some sellers/importers are better than others. I had questioned getting one before but ultimately decided simply to add an AUX input:

Do research on the seller and *never* trust that their warranty will be honored. The warranty (in my experience reading issues other people had) is simply sending the unit to China and not seeing it back for months if ever. If you are lucky and have a good seller, they will have a unit to send to you and they will deal with the factory side.

Agree, the $750 starting bid price level is far too high. I'll buy a knock-off if it is around $150 or so.

Not the same. The one in the OP is different from any other of the dozens of these things out there in that it seems to be a clone of the RNS-e hardware and software (interface) design.

Most of these kinds of units have really fugly cheezy chickety china the chinese chicken interface designs that should be a dealbreaker for anyone with working eyeballs.

Many people do seem to like some of the other VW clones out there. This thing is almost cheap enough for me to buy one just to mess around with but not quite.

And it will never be $150, even a chinese seller would take a loss on components at that price.

WOW, you really wrote that :D

Made me laugh, thnx...

Back ontopic...I have some experience with those china replicas. The interface can be buggy, slow and likes to crash. But there are good ones too that work as good as oem but have more options on them...

The price is still too high IMO. Isn't a working OEM RNS-E around that price?

They used to be. Theyve gotten a little scarce, and the economics of supply and demand have kicked in.
