Well for the Third time in 2 weeks my Upper Intercooler hoses (Intercooler to throttle body Y-pipe) have blown off under hard boost (16-17P)psi. After attempting to put them on I realized that the factory hoses are borderline short and I am not able to securely clamp them on. Can anyone recommend a good set of Aftermarket hoses which are hopefully slightly longer than factory and fit correctly? Tired of these damn things blowing off.........................

Venair is what a lot of us utilize.

Might want to consider T clamps or the constant tq clamps.

Thanks Max. I'll look into it, before I blow my Turbo's out.....................

Getting mine here. Same kit, but somehow less expensive...

+2 on Venairs. They are not longer, though. Could actually use a few mm on some of the hoses. V8weight did a good right up on these and the T-bolt clamps:

Just make sure everything's degreased well.
Tip: a little hairspray helps them slip on, then gets nice and tacky.
I had a little trouble clamping mine down. The T-bolt clamps are a little wider than the worm-gear Audi units, and they would tend to "watermelon-seed" the hose off as I would tighten them down. The above, plus forcibly pushing them on the intercooler when cinching them down until the clamp "bit," did the trick. Then tighten down the hose on the hardpipe.

the hard pipe sections don't have a lip on them? That's what I've seen before; even still, I've had to resort to longer silicone sections and using two clamps instead of one in the past.

No, they do have a lip. It's more of a "recess" or "groove" that results in a lip on the end. The recess is only slightly wider than than the width of the clamp, so you have to get it just right (or at least I did). Plus, the silicone is slippery, so as I tightened it, it would squeeze the hose off the IC pipe unless I pushed it on to equalize the force until the clamp started to seat itself in the groove. Once it was cinched in, it was fine. Sorry if I didn't explain it that well.

Elevens, just for added security I took the advice on constant TQ clamps and vennairs.the clamps aren't cheap but making 24psi it's necessary.

Ugh. When it was 98 degrees this summer, the extra heat was making me pop IC hoses left and right. On the plus side, I got really good at putting them back on. On the minus side, I shat myself when I got into it with a corvette ZR1 driven by a goombah... pulling neck-and-neck, hose pops, I sputter and fail. 10 minutes later the knob has looped back around and rolls by with a big smirk as I'm on the side of the road sweating my balls off with my hands jammed into the engine bay trying to feed the right upper IC hose back on.

I think if somebody made a set of hoses 10mm longer for these cars it would solve a lot of problems.

That's so true!

I was wandering just the other day how many times your story gets experienced. Times like that you wish for a do-over.
