I guess you can get the NHTSA to investigate transmission issues:

I believe all we need to do is file a report here:

OK guys, so far, one person has filed a complaint on there. If you have had your tc or trans replaced at your own expense or under warranty, please go to the website and fill out the online form. It doesn't take very long and with any luck, audi will be replacing these POS'!

This got the ball rolling for the LOVELY DRC recall...
I don't remember if anyone was hurt or caused an accident due to the DRC failing but I seem to remember that some experience a rather large stepping out when the rear rebounded HARD, lifting the rear off the ground...

IF anyone has had the TRANSMISSION (not tranny ) fail while driving and was stranded, this would be the thread. Mileage might be the key to this one???
(There was a recent post where the transmission failed without codes with his 14yo daughter).
(There was another several years back where he took the entire family out with the new car, transmission failed, cab everyone home, flatbed of the new to him car with photo).

I would LOVE to see this one go thru... and not some $hit silicone bandage on the fuel tank...

Ben, that wasn't years ago, that was last year IIRC.

LOL, per the 2003 Audi C5 RS6 2012 recall for automatic transmission torque converter, we will drill a small hole in the transmission bell housing and inject a new shaft seal into the TC. Then we will patch the hole in the bell housing with jb weld and paint it silver! :lovl::lovl::lovl:
