The RS6 is refered to as "The Beast," the E55 is also called "The Beast," Who used that expression first (not that it matters). Was just curious who mimiced whom?

I first heard the term "The Beast" used to describe the E39 M5 in 2000 by the Bimmer folk, but I'm not sure if they were the first to use that term or if that was poached as well. I wouldn't be surprised if enthusiasts of the 1960s muscle cars ever used the term "The Beast" to describe their respective cars too. I can think of more than a handful of car that could easily fill the shoes of the name "The Beast."

Ditto here. E39 M5 was coined the "Beast" before the RS6 or E55. If you're just talking about this class of car, of course.

I think we just have to resign ourselves to the fact that "Beast" can be used to refer to many different performance cars ...
