Tonight folks, I said goobye to the original tranny in my 2003 RS6. No codes, no CEL, just POP. Car had 71205 miles. Had been enjoying some spirited driving up Goergetown Pike shifting manually. Stopped for dinner with my 14 year old daughter. Got back in. Drove two blocks and then......no second gear enages....wait, NO gear engages.....coasted to the local Home Depot. Thank goodness for great insurance towing...car being delivered to Drive Autoworks in NJ tomorrow....time for some fun.
Only wierd thing here folks is NO warning signs. Ran VAG 2 weeks ago, no tranny codes. No gear hunting. TC was working great as RPM's would rise just a touch when coasting to stop... All in all, thought the tranny was pretty healthy.
Oh by the way....finally got the CEL. About 5 min after I had no tranny anymore.:vgrumpy:
