The new small Lamborghini with factory code L140 will be released in Geneva 2003.
The car has been tested on the Nürburgring (see spypics) and will compete with Porsche Turbo both performance- and pricewise.

The L140 is the first Lambo which is fully developed togehter with the new owner Audi.
Design by Giorgetto Giugiaros Calà and Luc Dockerwolke.

It will be a strict 2-seater with a mid-V10 with about 500 bhp.
The aluminium body will come out of Neckarsulm.
Four-wheel-drive from Audi and 6-speed sequential with pads on the steering wheel.

There will be 3 different types: coupé, spyder and targa.

Lamborghini had plans for a Baby Lambo back in the late 80's but didnt realise them.
The project was then called P140.
The car was supposed to compete against cheaper Ferraris and Porsches and was equppied with a 4 litre, 400 bhp V10 engine who also never was massproduced.
Then in 1995 Lamborghini presented the Cala design project (inhouse name = L140) on the Geneva Show. The car had inherit the V10 engine from the P140 concept car and was supposed to have a 6 speed gearbox from Lamborghini.
Then Audi stepped in to the picture... :D
The engine was replaced and the gearbox also.
This new 500 bhp V10 engine will also be fitted into the Audi RSR but in a 400 bhp version - probably quite like the "old" P140 engine.
The design was now modified by Luc Dockerwolke and I'ts not sure the car will look like the 1995 Lamborghini Cala concept.
There you have a pice of Baby-Lamborghini history... :)
