BMW calls it Park Distance Control, MB calls it Parktronic, what is the official name of Audi's parking sensor device?

How effective are these parking devices? If a gentleman is backing up, will they pick up a toddler who is crawling on the ground below the height of the bumper?

it's impressive..
it picks up everything.. even (long) grass :)

audi only has audio warnings.. mb & bmw have audio and visual (7 en 5 serie)
i have it on my car.. and it has saved me from a lot of bumpers..

Well, MB's version (in a CLK) works excellent. I think that a visual warner is a lot better than an audio signal. Can't comment on the others, but in a test drive a Swedish tv-show made with the new 5-series, he wasn't pleased at all because it was too sensitive.
Just as Ra5a said, it even picked up high grass.
