How many drivers have switched to the after market coilover suspension and what is the best kind? I'm looking to buy a 2003 RS 6 (in the eastern United States) and would like some education on this issue. Anything would be helpful. Thanks!

Fortunately, this is one of the most discussed issues on the forum. You may want to search for suspension specifically on the RS6 forum.

Thanks for the reply. By the way, what would you prefer if you were buying? Is the DRC recall replacement reliable? I'm fairly ignorant of the history as I have only begun to research RS6's. What did Audi do in 09' with the replacement?

Audi used a version of the DRC with the B7 RS4 as well as the C6 RS6 and they both have had failures. The B7 RS4 failure rate is as high as our C5 RS6's although I haven't heard as much about the C6 RS6 as there aren't too many on the list and they aren't in N. America. I went with the KW V3's for many reasons. They had a RS6 specific and tuned fitment, One of the best no questions asked lifetime guarantees in the industry, and they have been out about as long as the Bilsteins and Ohlins and had the best history. Sounds like in Europe, and available somewhat in the U.S. the H&R's have been good too. The KW's are one of the pricier ones but not even close to the outrageously priced Stasis/Ohlins. I don't think you will find a complaint from even one of the KW users other than the difficulty in adjusting once mounted (the are preset at a very good all around setting and most don't change them, slightly stiff for some). But you will find a few complaints for others, and a lof of complaints on some.
