BMW might have us believe that this will be the best driver's hatchback but one thing is for certain, it has to be the ugliest BMW I have ever seen. Now to it's interior, the last 1 series wasn't the most pleasant of design and it's good to see that BMW are continuing this with the new one. I read this on GCF from the local BMW insider by the name of SCOTT27 "Actually the new 1er dash is higher quality than the Audi A3/A4. All BMW's will get the large flat screen in the future.". I'm wondering one thing about this statement, is this factual or is it his unbiased opinion. :lovl:

Frankly if I were Audi I would be over the moon because it's not everyday a competitor shots themselves in the foot and hand you a golden opportunity to walk away with their potential customers as well.

When BMW thought up the idea of JOY in their latest ad I don't think this was quite what they were meaning.

And it seems that they collected all these "higher" quality stuffs for the interior and messed it up correctly at the end. The dashboard looks like a mess on the pictures.

The interior just doesn't gel what so ever. Individually there are elements I like but together it's a mess, much the same for it's exterior. And about the exterior, its rear, does anyone else notice how similar it looks to the old Golf Mk4, or is it just me.

I must agree with you here, even Bangles design didn't look this bad and who ever did this 1 series must not have had anything to do with any of the recent X models or the new 5 series which is currently my personal favourite Beemer.

The real shock is this BMW insider SCOTT guy claims that they as in BMW used customer clinics and it's God awful appearance was never mentioned. Yeah right, pull the other one :lovl:, the disapproval on BMW forums have been almost unanimous, to me that doesn't match up with his claims. I'm guessing it's appearance was pushed through because it matched that of the X1 and keep the family look, I understand their reasoning but it still doesn't make it right. Based on this I would expect the next 3 series to have a similar face to the X3.
