I have an '02 A6 Sport that's slipping coming out of 1st and into 2nd gear after the car warms up. The car has ~120k miles, and every other gear shift is flawless. A rebuilt transmission from the local dealer is close to $6k. Looking for suggestions on possible causes and fixes that don't involve spending more than the car is worth.

I know this is the RS forum, but I find the intel here better than any other Audi forum. Hoping I can get some help. Thanks. Robert

Where do you live? It may help knowing where your location is to local known shops. Do you have or have a friend with Vagcom software & a cable to check for fault codes? A generic code reader is beter than nothing.

San Antonio. No VAG-COM, but generic code reader output is
'17114' - 'P0730 - Gear incorrect ratio'
'17116' - 'P0732 - Gear 2 incorrect ratio' 'State: sporadic'
'18232' - 'P1824 - Pressure control valve 3-N217' 'Open or short to ground' 'State: sporadic'
'18227' - 'P1819 - Pressure control valve 2-N216' 'Open or short to ground' 'State: sporadic'

Yeah... clogged drains, wet TCU?

This tranny virus is spreading fast. Watch out for RuPaul, you might catch it.
