Earlier today I engaged in a spirited caravan with a gentleman who owns a 2004 S55 MB. When we ended the caravan run, he pulled into the parking lot of the bank and offered me a ride in his benz, it is the 493 HP big boy version and it still moved nicely although not quite as responsive as the RS6 though to be expected since it is a bit heavier than the RS6. What impressed me about the S55 was the silky smoothness of the transmission. I used to own a Jaguar XJR which made use of the AMG transmission and boy do I miss the smoothness of the shifts AMG trannies throw down. Love the AWD on the AUDI tho:)
