One of my turbos has lost a vane, thankfully on the exhaust side. I have 65k on the clock, so what are my options for repair? Can the turbos be rebuilt/refurbished to save money, or is it best to fit new ones?
Labor is 25-30hrs because of engine out.

Have there been many failures of turbos? I can't imagine breaking a vane at such a "low" mileage is normal.

Definitely not normal. Welcome to the forum. Can you update your location? Also, if you wouldn't mind sending ben916 a pm with your vin, at least the last 6, if you are in the USA.

I decided to go with www.scrollproducts.com (http://www.scrollproducts.com) but there are others in USA & Europe that can do the rebuilds with updated parts. Yes, you are very lucky it was a Turbine blade rather than a compressor blade although the Intercoolers will tend to filter out most pieces, some small particles can still get through.

It's best to replace both at one time, I would go with http://en.turbolader.net/ very reputable and can sell new or rebuild yours.

I think I have read of 2 or 3 turbo failures...

Do both at the same time...
Then sell the other one on Audizine :)
