I looked forward to the R4, but as it can't beat the Cayman perhaps best it's canned ;)

I'm happy the R4 will be canned, it's better for the next TT Mk3.
If you want a smal mid engined car buy a Boxster or Cayman.

never surprised me. the R4 will be the next TT. VW needs to hold back the reins a bit with this product flood. it can't produce an updated V8, but it's going to make 3 versions of the same car, lol.

Next TT will be MQB based with the engine transverse in the front of the car.
The design for it will be a mix between TT 8N Mk1 and TT 8J Mk2 and the final design will be decided within weeks.

Well, I'm not too worried they canceled the R4. There's always the new Sport Quattro.:jlol:

I heard a rumour that the next TT will be rear mid-engined? Whatever, and even if the R4 is cancelled, I am sure that Audi will use the MQB chassis in some way.

Next TT will have transverse front engine with Gen 6 Haldex for quattro models.

Thanks Pretender. The TTS and TTRS have really elevated this model line in the eyes of customers. The Mk 2 was a terrific follow-up to the first one. In so many ways, the TTRS is better than the Cayman S. If the Cayman does have an edge, it is due to it's rear mid-engine configuration. When it comes to year-round drivability and pace, my money is on the TTRS.

What advantages will Haldex 6 provide? And how will it compare to latest generation Torsen?

Haldex 6 will be a evolution of Haldex XWD (used by Saab) it will have two couplings.
