Not sure how many of you have run your car in 1/4 mile. But if you have, whats your best time. Just trying to gauge how much gain I will get from certain mods. My personnel best time is only 13.07, but I know it has a lot more. Stock hoses were not holding boost, didn't launch hard, etc..... Thats with the APR tune, and catless exhaust. Elevens, I'm curious what your best time is for sure!

I went to the strip a couple of times when I was stock (save for the Eisenmann axleback exhaust). I had a best of 13.04 @ 107. I haven't been back since tuning the car though, kind of hard on it.

I went the weekend I bought my car, bone stock it went 13.2 at 105. That's falling on it's face on the launch. I powerbraked and stomped on it and it went blaaahhh. Didn't get enough passes to learn how to launch. Definitley a technique to this car.

Mine runs a 12.80@112mph

But I am 5280ft above sea level, so not really a good comparison

Just imagine if you were a mile lower!

We will see what it runs up here with all the new fun here in about 1.5 months when the track opens here.

And I am going to try to make it out to Vegas this year with my buddies cars, and have a run or two down there

i ran a 12.6 with that car a couple times and just ran a 12.3 with the S4

Joe, Yeah I knew it was faster than 13.07 just the way it sits right now. But I am not killing the car on the start yet, not till I get the TOZO rebuild and ACE converter. It was also leaking boost pressure. Nice to know it ran a 12.6 though, THANKS!! It will be in the elevens eventually. You can bet on that!

Nice time with the S4! Did you use Launch Control? Could you post a time slip?

The weight loss from a manual swap(planned) with a good clutch kit, along with the ability to really LAUNCH would likely get you in the low 11's. That's my plan once I transfer to Florida and get my garage in order.

I wonder whatever happened to him? He made a lot of noise for a very short time, then seems to have disappeared (from here at least)....

Or maybe he blew his torque converter(s) all to he**, then moved on to greener pastures...?

Not sayin'.....just sayin'.... ;-)

ran the 1/4 mile at Perth Motorplex, Kwinan Beach dragstrip, Perth, WA - "whoop ass wednesday" weekly street tuning night testing APR US 93 and US 97 octane map and 93 and 97 octane petrol. only other mod is Wagner intercoolers, MTM TCU and PSS9 - cool evening at 60 degF, sea level.

didnt launch hard- no brake torquing or duck/rat foot technique- no time to practise on the line once staged!! Transmission was probably relieved as 'went to sleep' on the line.

just place in Sport, turn off esp and roll into the throttle on green. MTM TCU performed faultlessly-highly recomended.

US 93 octane -pump- best time was 13.1 secs, terminal speed 108 mph, first 60 ft in 2.29 secs, with low fuel level- 10 kms left on display. Ran 93 fuel with low tank level so could then switch to 97 octane without having to drain fuel to refuel with Avgas. truly 'running on empty'- expected a better time-at least high 12's.

US 97 octane- Avgas-recorded best time of 12.5 secs terminal speed 113mph, first 60 ft in 2.11 secs. really pulled hard after 3000rpm.- ran with 4 gallons avgas fuel showing - 80 kms on display

two other runs on avgas were 12.7,12.8. no noticeable heat soak.

the old girl was not disgraced by some of the other more modern V6 and V8 supercharged/turbocharged GM and Ford products and hot WRX's. Saw off a lot of higher powered cars that could not get traction off the start line once their drivers got the "red mist"! you do appreciate the beauty of AWD!

As only 3 RS6' s in Perth, I got a lot of "wtf is that?" from fellow participants after the beast ran 12.5 secs without the 'normal' burnout and smoking tyres off the line drama by the RWD brigade.

next trip to strip will be with more 'free flowing exhaust system-100 cell cat down pipes and no secondary cats-possibly Miltek and APR remap for modified freer flowing exhaust.

aussie rs6, carefull with that Avgas. It is low lead, and will reek havoc on your O2 sensors and kill the catalytic converters.

a lot of my Skyline friends drag their cars to benchmark them - a 1.8 second 0-60ft time is REALLY bogging it off the line. But this is with cars even with only a Stage 1 tune - about 500bhp or so. Which has me thinking that the slushbox is much to blame for sluggish reaction times. We're dealing with a bit of turbo lag, on top of torque converter lag with the RS6.

I really want to see what kind of times a 530bhp RS6 can post with a 6-speed manual swap. I'll bet it'd shave at least half a second off, just by virtue of being a manual.

12.8 sec. with the MTM tune at sea-level (Epping NH) this past August...conservative launch in sport mode (I just floored it from idle; I'm no drag racer !). It might go a bit faster with a better driver (?) My R/T was an embarassing .804 sec. That said...I am pleased with the way the car ran.

Got beat by a friend's W211 E55 wagon that did a 12.5 sec 1/4 mile. It has a chip and a smaller supercharger pulley; really flies well ! He hit the launch better and I was looking at his rear fender the whole time.

What was the 60' time you had in Epping? I'm hoping to have a tune and MTM-TCU sometime soon and I'll certainly be going up to Epping. I used to take my 1996 Impala SS up there!

Above a 2.0 60' - I generally will subtract 0.2 from the 1/4 time for the "if I had launched better" debate. I don't see any reason for the RS6 to have more than a 1.9 60' time on a decent but not crazy launch. Just roll into it faster and faster each run until/if you start breaking traction

Let me know how you make out with that..this transmission sucks for launching and dragracing...takes a lot of practice and not very consistant...

I will dig out the slip at home for the rest of the details...

This car with awd and the tranny the way it behaves, like Mike says, is not drag race material; at least with my set-up. I don't 1/4 mile it; only that once so far...but it does fine in HPDEs.

I agree, it does take a lot of practice and the RS6 certainly isn't optimal for drag launches but there has to be a sweet spot with 'hold rpm at 1200 and roll into full throttle by 3500rpm' or similar.

I spent a lot of time in the Impala (4400#) and cutting a 2.0 60' (stock tranny/stall) was just a matter of finding a sweet spot. I generally went 2.2 and even spun some awful 2.8s or 2.6s

The best 60ft I ever got was 1.9.....13.2 stock and like a 12.7 after TC and flash..I suspect my car still has issues and always did, so no sense in going back until they are all resolved...My car was 4240 with no spare and barely any fuel...
