View Full Version : I'm confused over SAT Radio

Clearly I spent too much time trying to sort it out and now just about to pull what hair I have left out of my head.

1. As some of you know I'm about to take ownership of a '03 Rs6
2. It has the original tuner head, Symphony II I believe.
3. It is SAT radio ready.
4. I need my SAT radio!
5. I called local Audi dealer, he told me I need a 8E0-035-593F (for Sirius)
6. Ok, fine I guess.
7. Someday I would like to replace the head with a RNS-E (not in a big hurry at this time, plus next to impossible to get)
8. My biggest question here is... Will the aforementioned SAT receiver (8E0-035-593F) work with the RNS-E head that I would like to get down the road, AND the currently installed stock Symphony II ?

Puzzled in Iowa....

Thanks!

Kevin

Josh, what's all that about?:)
Kevin, you'll need another module if/ when you swap over to the RNS-E. Crap, I just got rid of my XM module, it has to be removed to do the Ipod integration. Are you certain that the car you bought doesn't already have the module installed?

Lol, that was my attempt to paste from another thread on my iPhone. What I was getting at was that the unit that is compatible with Rns-e is also backwards compatible.

Yeah, you went the extra mile and rewired the pin-outs. I don't really care for satellite radio, and was happy to unload some more weight from the car :)
