into a mud bath. Fortunately- good old fashioned water hose cleaned up the working parts, and I was able to run the afternoon sessions. It required pulling wheels, calipers, rotors. Vigorous wash cleaning removed tons of Texas clay mud

The forged wheels were remarkable. I expected at least a bent rim. They all were checked for balance at the shop and were all good- amazing! I did not even think to take pics of the entire passenger side and wheels caked with mud. Even though the windows were down, very little mud made it into the car. When I saw the mud fly up I thought for sure we were in for an interior mud bath. Litterally, just a few spots inside that were easily cleaned up.

No damage done and the car made the 8 hour trip back to Little Rock in one piece to fight another day.

Mistake was an early apex, too much gas early, following the car in front assuming it was on track. By the time I realized the car in front of me was wide, it was too late as I had followed it right into a rut that slung the rear around for the 270 spin. Learning lesson learned.

I'll have some other vids of less exciting action up once I have time to go through them.

A little gardening is good for the soul every now and then. Improves your game.

Thanks everyone for the comments and good thoughts.

Below is chasing a R8 around. Afterwards, the driver of the R8 comes over and asks our group who is driving the RS6. We introduce ourselves and how he was suprised that he couldn't shake me. We proceed with some general discussion of our cars. The red R8 looked and sounded great. The 7 year old RS6 received its' share of compliments. Some of the flag station workers later told me they had enjoyed watching the RS6/R8 runs- ...;)

nice vids...

was that a v8 or v10 r8? couldn't tell in the vids.

glad to hear you're okay and the 6 is okay too.

is that your rs6? just wondering because in the vid, it looks like a DG RS6 or at least darker than the silver in your avatar pic.

It was a v8

Yes- It was my RS6- the dark cloud cover is why the car looks darker in the vids

LOL- So was most everyone- I was in there pretty deep/the wheels were about 1/2 buried in the mud. I had a momentary thought before it started moving that I was glad I always put the tow ring on just in case- Glad it wasn't needed- Gotta love Quattro!

LOL and brings back memories of past threads.. ;) - Yes he did- and he was consistently running faster than me this weekend. The GTR driver is a good guy and we have had a lot of fun running the track together on several weekends.

Love the Tilt-a-Whirl effect when the camera goes a little sideways. Great vids!
