This is a silly kind of mod, but I was just growing tired of the trunk net coming loose on it's own, or when items are of odd shapes.

I went to the local Eastern Mountain Sports (http://www.ems.com) shop, and decided to get four of carabiners as shown here (http://www.gearexpress.biz/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=G&Product_Code=6396B) , and do a little modding.

I got my cordless drill out, and found a drill bit that was just slightly wider then the carabiners I bought. Then proceeded to drill the plastic hooks that are at each of the corners of the trunk net.

The outcome is shown below on some pix. Now that I have it drilled and working, I'll take out the dremmel tool, and cut out the old hook tip, and round off the edge for a more professional looking job. I did not want to do that first, simply for the reason that if I had messed up the drilling job, I would be stuck having to buy a new trunk net.

[COLOR=darkblue]Nene, what a great idea! I am going to do the same thing as soon as I can pickup some carabiners. :addict: :addict:

If you turn the net the other way up, so you hook the latch from below rrather than above, you will find that it does not become unhooked, far easier than fitting carabiners!
