I've got some 996TT questions, maybe ttboost or Palette can answer, or others. How much of a premium should someone pay for a X50 package? Did the 996tt facelift end up in N. America in '02 or '03 and what more do you think a facelift model is worth? What kind of changes did they do to the facelift models?

I've been thinking about it for a while, but I'm also thinking about a Turbo Cayenne. My "Wants" don't always seem to line up with my "Needs". I was originally thinking this next Winter or next Spring but I'm getting the itch now.

Scratch it! Im lightening load selling S8, thought about BMW m3, rs4, etc but I really do prefer turbo, and I had a 911, great car.

X50 package is just upgraded Turbos to k24"s for K16's. I have seen 996 02 going for 35k which is a steal i tell yea! X50's closer to 40k. i paid 90 for mine 5 years ago but to be honest i am happy that i have it. first cause my wife bought it for me (still our Money)
If anyone wants a great Porsche buy the 997 it is bar far one hell of a car, upgraded fuel system, upgraded turbos, better heads, better cams. Minimal work just a tune and it will go like stink!
Hated my wifes M5 it was a big pig.

Hmmm,
Clean 02 for 35k? You got to be kidding me. Hmmm
I also considered a Cayenne TT for the wife before getting the AMG. I may revisit that situation as the AMG may go byebye this year.

Yup. Bored with mine too, but I'm not gonna give it away for 40k either...just keep making it faster. I f you can;t swing a 997 turbo, a 996 turbo will do...easy to mod and good bang for the buck too. The AWD is less than impressive, so don't rely on it as a DD if you live up north. I have since converted mine to RWD and it's way more fun and way faster. I say got for it...now is the time...What do you want to pay for a modded one :)?

I'm guessing your talkin to me and you meant RWD? I removed EVERYTHING. Front dif, axles and driveshaft. Saved 71lbs total. If you don't remove everything, you still have stuff turning. We suspect my dif was bad as we didn't see a difference on the Mustang dyno from AWD to RWD. We did just drop the driveshaft for the dyno session. I think my weight loss mods gave me almost as much performance as my bolt-ons.

Yes, the AWD in that car was a complete let down...much happier RWD...
