No worries, i did the same with my 7 month old untill he fell a sleep and had an hour to run out and play with the car. Im sure your car will be right there with mine.

3.7 is damn impressive. Best I ever pulled was 4.2. If I could actually brake boost in a meaningful way I'm sure my car could do mid-to-high 3's. Does the EC tune allow brake boosting? I believe APR does, as does the mythical Marc "10SecS4" tune.

I don't believe he turned that function on yet, The car starts to creep forward at 1900rpm.
Interesting about Marc , i emailed him when i first got the car and he said he would not sell the tune, Not sure if it was just for his own use.

Are you finding your car creeps as well?

I heard that yesterday on the News! I was like what an idiot! Go buy the GOPRO camera and you wont have to hold it! lol

You are right though, I pick my spots very carelessly , i really should wait till the spring so i don’t do anything to jeopardize the car or myself.

On that note, I will leave the 3.7 to stand and not post the other one i have

No, in my car the only creep is behind the wheel :) Your brakes should be able to hold 'er still...

I can only build ~ 3 psi while brake boosting. Which is smart, to protect it from people like me. Would be fun once in a while to let 'er rip though!

Supposedly this guy was supposed to sell Marc's tune, but he disappeared.

Funny, I received the Performance box today from the UK, so I will be able to do some recordings soon I guess.
But then again my phantom is very stock, as far as I know... So I hope to get into the high 4s.

micdee
March 5th, 2011, 12:20
But I guess you use different units :lovl:

So the compare: my best 0-100 at this moment is 5.26s.
The sprint was done in D and from stationary revs and I stepped on the gas progressively.

The second sprint I did was also in D and from stationary revs but this time I floored the pedal and it seemed to stall a little bit and my time was a 5.71s.

I'm not going to make a regular sport out of it, to try and preserve the tranny/tc but what would be the ultimate attempt for a best time:

I've seen in S and should I rev it to a certain rpm?
how long can I do this without seeing engine part also attempting to break my 0-100 best in front of me?

03 RS6 without any mod, as far as I know, accept for a sportec exhaust.

The 2.93 to 60km/h resulted in a 5.26s at 100km/h, but this was done with the TT in D

But my questions remains how to do a proper 0-100 or in yur case 0-60.

What i do is put it in S, then stomp on the brake. tap the throttle till it hits 2000, let off then mash the pedal till the rpms come up to 2300 that is where the car will hold with out pushing through the roll out. then release the brake and mash the gas pedal.

you should hit at the very least a 4.4

if you need more help i can help you out with the pbox if that what you need next. Good luck! keep me posted.

My daily driver has Marc's tune in it..... I can hold brake to 2k yes. Car pulls mid to high 3's for 0-60 yes. Video on YouTube are crude, but confirm it. My challenge is wheel spin which takes a hair of time off things.

Find it interesting the stock rs/6 in the above mentioned video does 4.3 ad 12.6 for the 1/4 mile. My rs/6 when stock ran 13.7. The obviously brought a hot factory stock beast.

aussie rs6
November 23rd, 2011, 20:16
I think it is generally accepted that a stock RS6 in good condition will run a 13.1 sec 1/4 mile and 0-60mph in 4.8 secs.

There are some exceptional stock ones that will break into the 12's.

Car and Driver did an extensive series of comapros with hot sedans like E55 back in 2004 and could not get the RS6 into the 12's.

Inability of RS6 to brake torque and thus getting off the line and the relatively 'slow' first 60ft acceleration time was the killer. The RS6 loses half a second inthe 1/4 mile time at the start. just my two cents worth. my best time standard was 13.01 secs for the 1/4 mile.

if you review the video mentioned which is the Motor Trend rs/6 vs e55, the rs/6 did a 12/6 with the e55 running `12.2
That is why I said it was a hot factory stock rs/6

I had one of the 'hot' stock RS6s...my car easily did 0-60 in the low 4's. Never did a drag strip run though for the 1/4 mile...wish i had. I was able to take several BMW V10 M5s 0 to 60. Nevermind vets I should have not been able to. Also explains the 4 transmissions probably. Dyno'd the car once and got 395hp and 390-5 torque at the wheels so way more than 450hp.

the USA mags ..hmmm..there 1/4 mile times for all cars are usually 0.4-0.6 secs faster then any other 1/4 tests in the world.......hmmm....hey john maybe our strips are all up hill and 440mtrs long?

I know this is an old thread, but I was playing with a Pbox yesterday and managed the times below.

The car did spin all four wheels, the Michelin PSS are slippy in the wet, and I had a passenger, so possible improvement on these times too. I'll have another play this weekend.

I doubt I'll do that, I've nowhere to mount a camera and it's too dangerous.
This proves the MRC tune is a strong one, it has always been smooth and very OEM like except when you boot the throttle. I don't want to make a habit of 0-60 runs (poor box), but I'm keen to do a 60-124 MPH (100-200kph) run and then call it quits.

Not a performance box expert, but it seems some of you are usinf 1 foot rollout like American mags and others arent... only comparable if you all have the same settings.
