This winter two pieces of my interior trim cracked. The big piece on the dash in front of the passenger and the gear shift surround developed cracks in the resin that's used to form the carbon fibre sheets.

Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Happened on my wood grain before I bought my beast. Shifter surround and tray sourround under arm rest.

I think I have the shifter surround, I'll have to see if I have the big piece that goes in front of the passenger.

11006Blitzen, I'm sorry if I got your hopes up, I looked all over and besides a complete wood set these are the only 3 carbon pieces I have left.

Got any pics of the cracks? Could they be refinished with epoxy and then clear coated again?

I have a couple small cracks on mine that were on the car before I bought it. Since I have the piano black trim the cracks are really hard to see though.

Sorry guys I've been too busy to follow up quickly. Thanks for the suggestions Ben16. I'll follow up with Speedtrapped and yokust. DHall, I don't think the cracks can be repaired. The cracks are like broken glass. For the effort that would be required to repair them (if it was even possible), I think I would probably be better off spending to get them from Audi.
