Passenger side. Looks like the black plastic "bracket" broke off.
Also, how much of a PITA is it to replace the unit?

Don't think so, because I don't see the black plastic "bracket" that the cover fits into. I was hunting around last night on the web, and I could find these pumps, but not the mounting brackets. Thought it was a one-piece assembly, but I must be wrong on that.
Maybe someone can throw up the schematic from the parts book and we can figure this one out?

Thanks, Marklar. So, if I am looking at this correctly, if part no. 5 is the bumper coverlette, I think it's part no. 3 that broke.

That would be 4B3 807 787 (left), or 4B3 807 788 (right), and unfortunately, the bumper has to be removed to replace it. It is fastened from the bottom with two torx screws.
