Not sure if this was ever covered here...

But, Blauparts offers a VITON seal material over the stock Nitrile material.

There's another company that offers seals in Polyacrylate, but VITON is still superior over the two materials in temperature and chemical resistance.

just FYI if you guys are looking to do or purchase your own components.

crank seal is not listed online, but can be purchased direct for $8.40

Timken (stock seal) is Nitrile.

I can take side by side pictures of all three seals as I wanted to compare.

Also, I've owned a lot of Honda vehicles, which use seals from Nippon and other japanese sources... and they use VITON as their material. never had a seal issue on a honda up to 150k miles.
