Before I purchased the factory tool (which makes it so easy now), on other Audi's I used a pair of needle nose plyers opened up with the tips in the indentations. Kind of hard to push much on that angle with the pliers and turn but I managed it.

I just did this about 4 weeks ago and turns out we just went to the local Harbor Freight and got the tool set for $30 or was it $40????
Either way, I don't know how Mark could have done this as the angle and the force/pressure required seems more than one could manage with needle nose pliers... just sayin' (no offense Mark)

Also, ya gotta watch the brake fluid level as you press in the piston...

Stephen, advance auto and autozone rent the tool set. It's actually free, you pay and get the money back when you return it.
