The age ol' water in the passenger foot well.
Of course it is raining like So Cal has never seen and I have to park the beast outside (at least it is in the driveway)

Get on it! We've been talking about this for months. I've been replacing these left and right on customer cars lately.

Shit, sorry to hear Ben. I likely have the same issue on my Beast but don't notice it since it is always garaged.

It's called the "water deflector", it's the cowl trim at the bottom of the windshield that deflects windshield run-off away from the cabin filter.

It seems the beast lives on parts and tears as much as fuel and oil.

And all of Ben's relentless rain becomes our relentless snow days later. Over 30" this month so far.

Maybe I can clear the garage some......

It has been raining for 4 days and it isn't just a little mist or a sprinkle here or there, it is a denser rain than when I grew up in Seattle.
It is flooding streets, drains aren't able to catch it/move it quickly enough or the hills/canyons have minor mud slides...

But if this rain is all that I have to deal with, versus snow/ice/tornado/hurricanes/etc, I will take the rain any day.

I know i might catch hell for this but, I wish we had snow and lots of it, between my Audis and my 71' Bronco, nothing funner then driving around in powder, deeper the better

Don't get me wrong, the beast is a blast in the snow, but this shit isn't powder. All of this snow has been fairly heavy and wet, and the 6 is just too low to be trudging through 2 feet of slop.

I'd remove the pollen filter housing, remove the crappy. crumbly weatherstripping around it and just silicone it in.

I thought about fabricating a cover for the filter like the B6's have but you know how that goes.

I had the windshield replaced about 2 weeks after purchasing (winshield versus bolt @ 70mph = I lose...)
I watched the installation process of the windshield and it was top notch.
I just think the deflector is warped due to being parked outside and the ambient outside heat...

call to stealership went a little something like this... hit it! :

B: I have a minor water leak in the passenger footwell and I believe it is the water deflector... blah...
SA: Oh, well it might be something else like a clogged drain (props for mentioning that but not the case) and that would be determined during diagnosis.
B: What is the cost of diagnosis or is that part of the repair?
SA: Diagnosis is $129/hr...
B: Hmmmm, well is that the same hourly rate for the install of the water deflector?
SA: Yes, the $129/hr rate and it should only take about an hour or less...
B: Do you have the part?
SA: Let me transfer you to the parts dept to check... (isn't that your job to check???)
B: Sure...
PD: Parts, how can I help you?
B: Part number blah . blah . satin black...
PD: (long pause) we don't have that part in stock....
B: Can you check on your parts system if Miramar has that part also?
PD: No one in the So Cal region has that part available.
B: GREAT! Thanks!

Jumped in Genuine - ordered it, gonna have to move stuff around in the garage today to get the BEAST in there for the rain...

Checking for waterproof car covers - any ideas?????
