So Ive only had Renn for a short time and Ive been working hard to bring her back up to her full glory :rs6kiss:
Right before my Son was born a power steering leak developed out of nowhere, forcing me to dig into her right at the most inconvenient possible time.
This is what I found:

Those are the high pressure line that run from the power steering pump to the power steering rack, the top one is the one I removed and the bottom one is the new one I installed.
I dont know what crack-smoking mechanic did this horrible molestation but the banjo connection on the pump was 180 degrees off and the steel hardline had been bent as well as the "flexible" piece being literally folded in half.
Because of the "creative" new routing just about everything else on that side of the car was off, the intercooler was sitting forward knocked off the top stand and it made getting any tools in there a nightmare.
The good news is the issue has been rectified, finally.. and I went ahead and did the timing belt/waterpump/serpentine while I was in there and since I had no idea how long it had been like this I threw in a new ps pump to attempt to nip any possible failure in the bud.
I was pleasantly surprised how smoothly the repairs/maintenance went, I was starting to get worried I may be in over my head being a DIY RS owner but it went well and after taking my son for his first ride in a german car yesterday I got my confidence/mojo back :revs:
Next up, winter tires, brake pads, tranny flush, oil change and repair that damn abs module..
oh ya, here is the new dad and future audi racer, Charles.. (His recaro seat is in the mail, i'll post pics with him and it soon)
