I just got my ECU flashed by Eurocharged..... I cannot say enough about what this flash has done for the performance of my RS6. Today my mechanic reinstalled my ECU and TCU after sending the ECU to Eurocharged and the TCU to MTM, and it was like i was putting my key into a new car. The acceleration is literaly breathtaking, and the transmission shifts so fast and so crisp. Anyone who does not have their ECU flashed by Eurocharged i highly reccomend it, it is without a doubt the most economical way to get the most out of your car. To tell you the truth i was kind of skeptical going into this, i really didnt think that a reprogrammed ECU could give my car close to 100 more bhp. I am now eating my words and embarassed for doubting their capabilities. I owe it all to Dave Hall, he was able to answer all of my questions and really helped me to talk my self into doing this. Jerry with Eurocharged was also awesome, he can answer any questions, is extremely accessable, and a really good guy. I am another satisfied Eurocharged customer.

What was the turn around time for both modules? I have been contemplating it for months now and haven't pulled the trigger yet. I also have 117k miles on mine and the tranny has never been out yet and don't want to blow it up

the turnaround is literaly less than 24 hours... you will just be taking the tranny control unit out, i wouldnt worry about it blowing up.

Lol, I suggest your next mod be to update your location. But seriously, gut your precats and ask Jerry to loan you a flashloader with a updated tune to delete the secondary O2 sensors and adjust fueling. Upgrade your diverted valves. Reseal your intercoolers and get some venair hoses and t-bolt clamps. Stainless brake lines, EBC reds, and ate superblue fluid. Vag-com cable. Pick and choose or do them all.

I was just golfing with another RS6 member from KC today. If you need a great dentist to trade RS6 stories with...PM me and I will send you his info. What a day and what a course we played.

Glad your happy and enjoy the beast. Not much can touch it in this state of tune.

The trans can go at any time now. With or without the reflash. Good thing you have Tozo in your back yard for a reasonable rebuild.

Put the money in the bank for the trans and fire away at the reflash. You will be amazed at the car.

From what i have heard the revo flash will just pump up your boost.... and yes the hp is close to 100, and the price around the same or maybe even less than the revo flash.... i am more than satisfied with the eurocharged flash, i highly reccomend it.

After you take one ride in John's car it will be over. Start pinching lunch money now because this is the single most effective performance modification you can do to the RS6.

Richer A/F ratios than stock. (stock tune is lean well over 13:1 a/f)
Lower max EGT from stock. (stock tune runs too hot imho due to the a/f)
Conservative boost levels. (remember we have x2 snails and a V8 under the hood)
Moderate timing gains due mostly to the above. (timing can actually be advanced due to the a/f remapping)

All add up to one fast beast. A happy Cosworth full of fuel and timing advance running 850 max EGT at the top of 3rd gear.

And finally, "greenies need not apply" we are dumping more fuel into the beast to turn that into more power. Leave the green jobs for poop duty in the back yard.

After all these spontaneous customer endorsements, how can I not partake? I will eventually sign up for this tune, but will first have to sort out a couple DTCs and send the TCU to MTM before I pull the trigger on the EC tune. The other complication is that I already blew this christmas' budget (and part of next years' too) by upgrading a SACD transport and DAC in my stereo system. I'll have to talk to Bernanke and see if he can help me...

It's flash device that eurocharge sales. Not expensive. Jerry sends a set up file, and code to activate device . Once handheld is set up, then u go and read ECU, about 15 minutes later bam, go inside hook USB and download file desktop. Then Jerry can send you and mod to flash via email, which u load into handheld via a program . Go outside hook up to car and voilą ECU is updated, ie gutted cats, DP, etc

Questions re: the latest Eurocharged build:

Can you flash back to stock program at will with this device?

Is there/could there ever be a two-stage rev-limiter, like the mythical Marc "10secS4" tune that pulled 11 sec 1/4 mile times and sub 4 second 0-60s simply because it could effectively brake boost and get amazing hole shots...

This sounds great. Living in north central MN, there is a lot of diesel truck guys who have hand-held tuners that work this way. I understand the demand for the diesel programmers far outweigh the demand for a similar solution to our cars, but I have wondered why this hasn't happened in the last 7 years for the beast. Until now. I will have to talk with Jerry about this. I have sent my payment to him already for the tune.

Yeah the CTS-V is super hard to launch to get to the acclaimed 3.9 sec 0-60... I had some fun with a new CTS-V owner in Kansas City, he got smashed all 3 runs from a dead stop (with the new Eurocharged ECU I might add). The CTS-V owner was complaining he wasnt used to his new car yet, he said due to his inexperience was the only reason i smashed him all 3 times. So i kindly asked him if he would llike to do some highway pulls from 50-100 and the Eurocharged RS6 prevailed both times.... Even without the wheel spin the RS6 dominated by at least 2 car lengths... The beast is just too beasty for the CTS-V

Curious what is happening that u need n75, loss of boost? Big loss?

Yes and no. Indirectly, yes. The n75 being faulty isnt opening the wastegates effectively, therefore causing an overboost situation. Which causes the ECU to cut boost altogether. This only happens sometimes at WOT. Intermittent for now.

Overboost. Line pressure signal is not making it from the N75 to the actuators thus overboost.

N75 or lines to the wastegate actuators or the seal in the actuators.

Requested boost is on target 1950mbar and actual starts to pass 2300mb and higher. ekks

Of course! My stock run, the third run, was 341/362. the hp reading was wacky with the tune. not sure if this was due to my n75 valve or the dyno run being done in 4th, but the first run was 351/437. they screwed up the second run on the tune, and they are giving me a discount on the 4th of november. at that time, the n75 will have been replaced, as well as the intercoolers and clamps.

We have data logged the new Eurocharge tune to death, posted logs with graphs and tried 3 times for a dyno back to back. Two dyno's had glitches and Josh's N75 crapped out causing an overboost. Next up in Stephen in the next few days at another dyno. This next one should work out.

I didn't dyno before and after, but according to my before and after data logs of MAF g/s, I gained about 17whp, or about 23bhp. This will almost definitely cause you to fail NJ emissions. We don't have emissions testing here. :)

Hey thanks Iswing for your quick reply. I've actually had it remapped by an approved Viezu remapping garage already! Was in for a service and they convinced me, as they were already working on an RS6 and have done a few of these.

But after the remap, when I press the kickdown, it feels like i'm taking off which aint a bad thing but it seems to rev sooo high till the next gear change, like in the 7's ...? just seems a bit insane! And wondered if this was normal for a remap? I do need to test it out a bit more though, as only just had it done today.

lswing
May 8th, 2015, 22:51
That does seem a bit high. Personally I think the only thing the kickdown switch is good for is destroying the transmission.

Some tunes remove the kickdown switch because folks don't like it. If yours is coded out, then your revs are just rising from the pedal being pushed down...but the next gear change would be up due to the redline being hit. I'd contact the tuner and ask what they meant to do.

Just been out again, and it's a little better I think, but when I do press that kickdown, it goes insanely fast, never thought it was possible to drive that quick lol! I think I'll probably have to lay of the kickdown, and get in touch with them again see if they can adjust. I like the kickdown, but if it's too mad, i can see it being counterproductive! Dunno about using it for overtaking, it feels like it would throw me off the road! lol! hmm! Thanks for the feedback.

Just thought I'd give an update, I took the car back to get the remap undone, although I loved the power behind the 'throttle', it was a bit jerky when doing about 70-80 and also brought the engine warning light on after testing it out a bit, and was told it can sometimes go into safe mode if some stress limits are exceeded. They seem a good bunch down there at Straightline Performance in Malvern, (they did a service and cambelt change with no issues for a great price, and even went the extra mile when I pointed out a couple of minor issues) and gave me a refund straight away and un-remapped it back to factory settings, and it drives a lot smoother now, but not as insanely fast off the mark! I should be happy with 450 bhp, but after tasting what a remap can do, I may still one day look into Viper from the UK, or some other well known remappers, but not for now :-)

You've got a boost leak or other issues causing the bad performance when tuned. Any tune you put on the car will cause a similar issue. Tune the car and the get the issues fixed and you will be golden, and fast!

If you want to buy the programmer they sell (my genius), then I'll sell you mine. You just have to pay 20 bucks to get the reset code so it matches with your car. Normally 500, just PM if anyone is interested.

Thanks for your comment Iswing, yeah I did wonder if there were some other issues. There is a bit of play I think somewhere along the transmission line, could be propshaft, or final drive or maybe in the gearbox, I couldn't tell as am not a mechanic but just mechanically minded! :lovl: But sometimes on slowing down and then speeding up again, there's a thud, where it kicks in again.

Will have to get it seen to soon.
