Anyone have any insight on the common reasons for this system to fail?
I suspect just a wire harness corrosion issue like my driver's side air bag, but though perhaps there was some group think on this issue.

I'll be doing a Vag-Com checkup this weekend. Gotta watch for those non-cel producing errors LOL
