I stop my local NJDMV today to pick up my title reg, and plates. The fedex from title company got there 10 days ago. So guess what my vehicle comes up REPO. So the ever helpful dmv said we reviewed and mailed back to your title company with letter stating we need a release from said lien holder. WTF? Before I crap all over Elite Motors in Chi town(yet), it is Saturday so I assume it wont be resolved till monday, or tues-I hope. Anyone ever run into this? Wouldnt a dealer or the 3rd party title company they use, see the red flag?

I would say the selling dealer had to know.

This car was purchased at Manheim in CA. The title status had to be given.

Well kudos to elite, both title company and sales manager called me. Yes it was repo'ed and sold at manheim. The dealer provided letter that has been accepted in njdmv in past. So they are giving me another 30 day temp, and reissuing title to dealer, then dealer to me. That is good customer service.
