I will likely do the RS600 conversion, the bottom engine cover looks new, but many of the mounting screws are missing. I cannot seem to find them on genuine(no listing for RS6)-anyone happen to know the obscure part #?

I'm not sure what you mean, but you have to type in the part numbers for the parts you are looking for on genuinevw, the RS6 isn't listed on their site. Most of the time they will list the part as being for another model, which is perfectly normal.

sorry, when I type the part #, 8 lists come up, diff years and engine sizes, but maybe the part is the same across them all?

I would make sure you get the one for 4.2.
Also there are 14 screws(?) to hold the belly pan, 2 in each wheel well.

The parts for cooling mod are about $50 max.
Use a jigsaw, not a cut off wheel.

do exactly like Pat's crayon drawing.
One thing that John (Audi5000cstq) and I did was to use an bicycle inner tube cut to insulate between the metal and the grate material...

No problem man. The "dowels" are the same part across the board. If they were different, there would be a different part number. Genuine's system lists all the applicable applications like that so you can make sure your car is in there. If we had special dowels, it would only list our car when looking up the part number. I think it ended up costing me about 30 to do the sportec mod, give or take a few dollars.

Also, when ordering be sure to include your VIN. Bill and Ingrid will make sure you get the correct part, and if there is any question on it being correct, they will contact you to confirm.
