Loving the Alpina, great torque figures! The car I would realistically buy of the lot.

If you're looking for torque I'd say the Caddy has that one walked. :D But from a 6 cyl, very impressive!

I'd take the Merc for my drive home. But it's impressive that the CTS-V is quicker than it.

Yeah, that was more my point. The caddy motor is double the size. ;)

I've read numerous comparison tests between the C63 and the M3 and as far as I can recall this is the first time where the Mercedes has been it on the track. Am I right about this?

Might be so. This one has the Performance Package Plus and that might do the trick. It's bloody quick both on the track and straight forward and makes a noise to kill for.

Thought the Cadillac would be lighter, it's almost a two ton pig!!. I do like the desing and engine though. Impressed by the Alpina's weight and the Toyota's as well.

The odd thing is Fifthgear ran a feature with Tiff and Jason driving both the M3 and C63, in fact it's the same two models compete with their respective performance package upgrades and in that test the M3 comfortably beat the C63 by a good few seconds. I don't understand why different people are finding such varied results. :vhmmm:

I think you've answered your question. :)

I'm not a RWD person so I can guarantee you that I'd be faster in an RS5 round any given track than any of the cars in this showdown...

Everything depends on the driver...

I like both though I too would probably be quicker in the RS5 and any of the other cars tested.

I watched Fifthgear's program tonight which featured the RS5 in the Alps and one comment that sticks in my mind was the word 'confidence', it seems that true professional want a chassis that does nothing to help them at all but the rest of us want/need a chassis that fills us with confidence to push that bit harder than we would in anything else.
