:fastm: I want to know if anyone in the Wisconsin area or even had known from the Internet of a Company known as BLAUParts in Manitowoc, WI that offers a pretty decent and complete Timing Belt Kit with Waterpump included and also the Serpentine V Belt for about $500.00 dollars. I used there's transmission fluid kit a couple of weeks ago :hihi:. If anyone has any info let me know what you guys think. Ciao:addict:

Just get the Ecs kit if you aren't in a hurry. It's cheaper, uses oem parts and ships free.

Word to the wise:

(reciting 2nd hand) during a recent probable-annual Barrett Jackson Auction and timing belt party, one V8Weight ordered said ECS TB kit and upon readiness to install, it was either missing parts or had the incorrect part... scramble for part at local Audi parts stealership from Casa Grande.

I used the Blauparts Timing belt Kit to do my former A6 2.7T. From what I remember it came with all OEM German Manufactured parts, Including a good metal impeller water pump. It also came with detailed instructions and the necessary tools need to do the task. The RS may be a different story, I have never done one. But when Its time to do mine, I will definitely use the Blauparts Kit since my experiences with the first kit was very good. There is a refundable tool deposit and they give you about 7 days after you receive the kit to complete the job. After which you must return the tools or pay a small penalty. Now that I think about it, I think I did have to pay a small rental fee for the necessary tools. I am not certain though, I cant' remember every detail. Good luck If you decide to go that way.....................

Ya, he'll likely chime in but I think he got a plastic-impeller pump and the wrong thermostat

I grew up in Manitowoc and have lots of family there. It's full of Germans (I'm half German), so an Audi shop doesn't surprise me. I'll stop by some day to check it out and see what they say about the RS6...

Funny story, I saw a faded 300SL Gullwing Mercedes Benz behind a fence at this little Mercedes shop in Manitowoc back in the day. The owner of the shop is a little ole German guy fully trained by MB in Germany. He is an amazing restoration specialist. Well, I'm like 16 years old and I call the shop to inquire about the Gullwing. A lady that answers the phone was polite, but says "sonny, you can't afford it." So true... A couple of years later I learn that was the grandmother of the girl I was currently dating. She said they laughed about my phone call pretty much every time an expensive part was required for the 300SL. Anyway, there are some amazing German mechanics hiding away in Wisconsin!

The timing belt kit is the same for the S6 as for the RS6.

I bought my kit from Blau and haven't had any issues. All the parts were OEM tier 2 suppliers that I'm familiar with (INA, SKF, etc.)

This is why I said "if you aren't in a hurry", so you can call Ecs and make sure they send the right parts and have time to send back incorrect parts.

Thanks for the info.. That gives me more confident. Locally, in the Audi Dealer all the parts + water pump + serpentine belt = $ 1,200.00, so do the math comparison with BLAUParts or ECS Tuning costs + labor, unless you are skill to do it yourself. I can't because I am paraplegic and even with help I am not a knowledgable mechanic at that level. Thanks Elevens.

If I were up that way, I'd do it for a bunch of beer! Of course you'd have to buy the parts, lol.
