missing button... anyone else?

so i was going thru the owner's manual today and was caught up at the section about the "Convenience Settings" using DIS.... the instruction said, press the "MENU" button on the switch beside the handbrake (parking brake) to gain access to the options.... My problem now is... I have a factory Audio Based Navi system in the car (which i am swapping out soon for RNS-E) and the "MENU" button aint there.... so now.. i guess two questions...

1) how do i gain access to the Convenience Settings?
2) can i switch my buttons on the console to the standard one after deleting the audio based navi?

Mine does not have the button. I think the asterisk next to the title may indicate that it is not on all of the cars.
