I would have thought that the rwd BMWs, as there were two present would have eventually overhauled the awd RS4. You are right, the real world don't match up with what we have seen in those airfield events.

Though saying all that, what additional output benefits would these extras (exhaust etc) have made?

20 PS?I had recently a race with a modified rs4 (modofied ECU with rev limiter 8500 rpm +ITG filter in special airbox) from 70 km/h-220 km/h.My car is bone stock.Three times the cars were equal. Conclusions are your's.I believe that only removing precatalysts is worth.

How can this be? I always thought that awd system used much more of the available power than either fwd or rwd, here we have an RS4 that's even quicker than the lighter 335i with was chipped to 430hp according to the video and with probably much more torque as well.

I may need to rethink what I thought was factual.

One french magazine often compares a stock car with the same one, but this time ECU modified (w or w/o cats replacement)

And the results are surprinsing. A stock 135i for example has better figures than a 135i performance pack (326HP) in almost all sorts of test.

The last example was a Renault Megane RS (250ch) compared to a modified one (310ch on dyno and much more torque in all rpm). Incredible, but the stock car is far ahead the modified one. Almost 5 sec better on a 0-220km.h test (5 is not a mistake!)

I can't understand....were the stock cars press cars working extremely well (break in, km, etc....). Not coming from the figures, because the magazine is known to be serious (same day, same weather conditions, etc....).

Very interesting.Any scans? What is the name of the magazine?I suppose that the tuning is not all times worth.Or the additional horses on dyno are not healthy on road.
