Oil/grease inside front wheel = torn cv boot?

Always. Don't bother doing the boot. Get a good reman axle (like raxles) and put a complete unit in there. Less of a hassle than doing the boot if you diy and if you dont diy, barely more expensive if you go to an indy mech.
