would like to keep OEM sizing, which I know eliminates a lot of good options...who makes 18" forged wheels that fit RS6? Tire Rack only shows BBS CH (which I like) as options for 18", but I believe BBS forged starts at 19"

thoughts?

Your right about the limits of the 18" wheel. But keep in mind that the stock size isn't just 18", that is in North America. Most RS6's in Europe were delivered with 19" wheels. I would imagine your roads down in Georgia aren't too bad, you may want to open up your shopping to 19", you just cut the profile one notch and you keep the same rolling diameter.

Nothing beats the strength of forged, but if you do consider other options, I was surprised to hear that the dealerships carry Hartmann brand as well as VMR (at least MN dealer does). Not forged, but the Hartmann HS5 in a 19x8.5 was $275 per wheel. Yes, at the dealership. I literally asked the guy behind the counter "I thought this is the stealership, that's a pretty good price" He smiled and said that includes spacers if I need them.

Venaci have some nice wheels (made by tanabe) in japan, they also make work wheels i have been told..vipstatus in the states sell them ( they are very well priced ) have have a beautiful finish i think
. They are also custom made, so the fit will be perfect no spacers!

VMR makes some nice looking wheels...Anyone have direct experience with them?

Tire Rack also has other sizes available if you call them. I went with OZ Ultraleggera HLT Wheels 10x19 et32 in Silver with 275/30-19 Michelin PS2, which they warned me, would not fit. Of course they do and I am quite pleased with the results.

Twin, are you asking for 18"s because you want interchangeables?

Roads here in GA aren't as good as you would think and my RS6 is daily driver, so thinking more about preserving ride quality...but perhaps 19" isn't much different....

and what do 18" OEM weigh?

With that in mind. I went with 255/35/19s to keep as much sidewall as poss on a 9in rim.

DHall, in your opinion with everyday driving, was there a noticeable difference in ride quality? I only have short drive experience in others' cars and seem to feel it was a bit more harsh (part of Twin's concern).

Almost the exact ride quality. Tire pressure makes a huge difference. Some folks run really high tire pressure and that will alter the ride more than the 255/18 to 255/19 change.

275/30/19s will make a difference as you lose additional sidewall and the overall diameter is less. If my car were lowered I would consider the 275/30/19 but I dont drive on bad roads nor drive the car everyday.

Audi RS4 19x9 with 29mm backspace. Perfect RS6 fitment with no spacers.

Many of the Hartman wheels dont have the correct backspace because they are more for the standard fender cars.

Good to know Dave and so true about tire pressure.

Another option that looks really good.

Hartman makes these in 19x8.5 with 25mm offset. I like the look on the C5 RS6.

Those C6 wheels look pretty good. I know the S5 wheels from Hartmann come in a 25mm offset as well. I think there are several of their models that do.
