Hi this is my first post

Need some help,I phurchased my first RS6 3 weeks ago the car it has an excellent service history and drove better than any other car i had ever drivin, after driving the car for 3 weeks i stil get up early take the long way to work and finish early just so i can drive it again i think i have the RS6 bug.As the car has done 100ks not miles and reading all the post on Transmission Issues i decided to get the Transmission serviced.I took it to the best Audi dealer here in NZ when i went to pick the car the car up the service manager told me the gear changes are abit harsh in 1st and 2nd gear this can be normal after a Transmission service it should be OK after 200ks it was also noted on my invoice (harsh gear changes noted customer to monitor)On the way home it was shocking gear changes are slow,tc is not engaging slipping badly the engine revs and the car goes no where and when it does engage the Transmission feels like its going to come through the floor of the car if there wasnt so much trafic i would have called a tow truck.The dealer was closed by the time i got home so i havnt spoken to them yet is this normal after a Transmission service or have they stuffed my car.

Sounds like they didnt refill it properly. Either that or they knocked some sediment loose in the valve body....

That depends on a few things:
What is the drive there like? Lots is stop and go? Or mostly highway?
How does the tranny feel after you get into the higher gears?
Do YOU feel comfortable driving it there and potentially having to tow it partway anyway because it gets worse(generally the case with mechanical things, in particular engines)?

Just checked my invoice the trans filter part number seems strange
1 x OTHE27860 Trans filter<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
1 x 01L-321-371 Gasket
8 x G-052-162-A2 ATF Oil<o:p></o:p>

I had those exact symptoms once when the tranny fluid was not filled properly. They put some more fluid into the system and the symptoms went away. However; it did these same symptoms about 35K miles later when the tc went south. I would call the dealership and make them send a tow or cover the tow truck cost.

After each of my tranny fluid services except the one noted above, the car drove normally immediately after each change.

The oil looks like the right part # and about the right amount to be used for a change (not enough for a flush). The error has to be in their procedure but for the life of me I can't see how a dealer can screw that up? They have to be following the same procedure in the manual that we are. (They are a actual Audi dealer?). It has to be with the filter or the fluid level?

Got the car back today after sending it back on a tow truck the good news is they fixed it, told me the filter was faulty? The Trans feels amazing the car feels more responsive and much faster just like to thank everyone for their help

I have done about 50ks since the service took the car for a drive today it has developed a hard change when kicking down from 3rd to 2nd also seems to have lost power im not an expert but after reading most of the posts on transmision issiues could it be low on fluids i have a lift a work so i want to check it myself is there a way to check the fluid level and is there a fluid top up procedure.

Hi Just a quick update turns the dealership installed the wrong filter after the correct filter was installed the tyranny was progressively getting worse on kick down from 3rd to 2nd gear to cut a long story short with many arguments with dealership the tyranny and torque converter were fix under warranty have done 1000ks on new rebuild and had MTM TCU chip and euro flash done today the difference is amazing now have the RS6 bug back have owned lots of different cars but I must say as heartbreaking as this car can be when things go bad when everything is running well I love it.

great that is how mine felt after a tranny service too....better kick down, and smoother at low speed also! best $480 i ever spent on the car
