Qisha, could you comment on the "new design" for the replacement Torque Converter?

I had my TC replaced this past week with the "new design" TC in a 2003 RS6, and I am just curious about what may be 'new' beside a new type of seal.

Any functional improvement?

hey Mike. When I had my tranny replaced last year, I asked my regular tech if they had done any modifications to strengthen the units since all the trouble with them had come to light. He said they had reinforced the TC and some other internals so it should hold up better. However, when I asked Qisha about it, he was emphatic that there had been no changes since original production. Hopefully he will read this and confirm.

I am not to concerned. I will be happy with another 25,000 miles without trouble, then I'll have not warranty options and I'll have 130,000 miles. After another 12 payments I'll be driving for free (GTO only - gas, tires and oil)

It's just the seal that was changed from what I hear.
