But still hoping to get a wider contact patch.... and am worried that the 275's might rub if I go agressive on my rims....

thoughts / experience to share with a newbie ?!

thanks !

As I noted in one of your other threads. I dont think 265/35 will fit.

You would be surprised how much larger the 255/35/19s look on 19x9 in rims. And you will keep the sidewall that you are looking for.

I agree that it's a bit taller - but there do seem to be some folks who've done it, the question is will it work with the KW's I'm getting put in next week ...

Nope, they will not fit. Especially with the kw's. I'll elaborate later, I've got a Saturn outlook to finish butchering up here.

I went with the OEM RS4 wheel and 255/35/19.

Perfect fitment, no spacers and plenty of sidewall.

I have to run but search some of my posts to see pics of my car with RS4 wheels. The look huge over the stock RS6 18s.

I was just about to post my own tire size question, but its similar, so no need to clutter the forum. I hope the OP doesnt mind.

anyway, today my 19x9.5 wheels come in and i need to get tires for them. the last time i had 19s, they were 245.35s and i really liked that sidewall, so i wanted similar. 285.35s will give me the same sidewall, but my question is whether they will actually fit all around without rubbing or doing any other bad things. can i fit 285s?

No fit.

255/35/19 or 275/30/19

IF you have the correct offset on your 9 or 10" rims.

Found this a while back. Good for reference. Still, I am likely in need of more education. Guy's, let us know why they don't fit.

I have used this too, but beware. It seems that tire sizes do vary a smidge from manufacturer to manufacturer. Best to check the actual sizes (circumference etc...) with actual tire manufacturer.
