OK...so you've seen all the pictures and the concept cars.

Wanna know what the people working around the Audi stand said?

So...

Audi will no longer have the biturbo concept. (shall I repeat?)
They will have natrual aspirated cars in the S- and RS-series.
There will perhaps be a car with turbo + compressor, but I guess that will be in a lower series car than any S-model.
They said they had tried the M3 CSL (Audi and BMW trade cars with each other) and loved it. It sounded fantastic.
However they said there was a new car that sounded much much better. And I'm not talking about the V10 Gallardo which is built door to door with the RS6...(did you know that?)

The pikes peak quattro will be made, the Nuvolari will follow probably A6-based). The Le Mans is too new too have any production plans, but Audi has showed similar concept cars for over 10 years so "soon" is maybe the right time.
However, there are not so many people working at quattro GmbH so it all takes time.

For the RS4 you can expect V8 n/a with 410-440 hp and DRC like the RS6.

The people at Audi looked really proud.

The BMW story was another story, of course they have a lot of nice cars as well. But they're taking so much bashing for the 5-series it's amazing. After a face-lift or two it might actually look good. Or perhaps when the M5 is released (Geneva 2004 by the way) people will get used to it?
I think there will be a 530 Turbo as well, the man I spoke to could see until 2008 since he was the project manager for the 5-series.
The M5 will have 500-500 hp, 7-speed SMG or manual.
I asked for the 6-series interioir in the M5 but then he looked away. LOL!

Did I forget anything? Ask and I'll hopefully be able to reply.

OK, I give up ... what's the new car that sounded much better, and is it from Audi or BMW?

I think you can forget the RS8 for a long time, if not forever.

The A8 W12 6.0 will be launched next year.

The S8 maybe in 2005.

I think it would be the new RS4 - they would not tell me.

I'd be VERY disappointed is they dropped turbos from the RS line, very!

Also, it would be quite a trick to get 440hp in the RS 4 from the 4.2 without boost.

Even if the power output would be satisfying? ;)

I like my turbo torque curve and I like when my engine isn't gasping for air at altitude; give me turbos or give me death.:)

I'm bummed:(

That's unbelievable!:vsad:
If so,what else is left for us fans to purchase any RS?Only quattro is not enough! It's not a good idea for Audi to take the bi-turbo engine off from their RS cars if they want to compete with BMW!:alig:

To put it mildly, I'm extremely skeptical. Why would Audi come out with the LeMans Quattro concept bi-turbo V10? What about discussions of 6 and 800 hp RS8s?

It seems to me that turbocharging or supercharging are necessary to get to the desired hp and torque levels. I'm certainly no engineer, but that's my two cents worth ...

I'll believe 100% normally asperated RS crs when I see them.

I'd like to hear from Nordschleife or some of the other more technical members ...

About the FSI engines... (like the projected V10 biturbo)

Is it true they need 95 octance to run?
In such case it sucks for the USA.

Octane is measured differently in the US. US 93 octane equals roughly 98 "European" octane.

...what if they come up with another engine, say something in the 5-liter-plus range?

Would that do it? And, was there any word from Audi re a bigger engine forthcoming?
