Yes I did a search which resulted in 4 pages of threads all which did not answer my question. What is the typical life of rotors and pads for an 03 RS6? Thanks.

Did you happen to search your own thread you started? LIRS6 already answered your question.

- DRC - Audi picking up the tab for full replacement until Aug of this year. If you are in the hunt, ask the owner if the work has been done. If not, and it needs it, you have limited time.
- Turbos - not typically a problem area for these cars.
- Tranny - This is the Achilles Heel of the RS6 - TC's have been going at about 45-50k.
- Brakes - figure on changing front rotors every 25k ... not cheap ($600 pr or more)- Interior - not aware of any issues

Just my few thoughts

good luck

unless you are uptight and picky (the previous owner of my car had them changed 4, yes four! times before I picked it up at 36,000 miles)
$600 is a smokin dealio!
wonder over to the stealership and take a eye burning look at their prices...
Also depends on your braking style/duty loads/etc.

I actually just changed all my rotors...they appeared to be originals (and pretty shot I might add) ...this was at 85K. I'm quite sure 2 or 3 sets of pads were on it before I got the car though.

Depends on who is driving the life expectancy is....30-40K would seem normal for such a heavy car. Obviously the fronts wear out faster as far as brake biasing goes. Just my 2 cents.

AudiRS4....I didn't even see that in there. Thanks. However the brake pad life expectancy wasn't discussed.

No prob. If you have stock pads they will start eating your rotors when they get below 50%. You definitely want to change them to EBC Red's. Much better pad anyway. Here was my fix for the fronts though.

And if you are an Audi club member there are a lot of dealers that will give you from 10% to 20% parts discounts.
