I still think I am dreaming, kinda dont seam real... Its not like this is the fastest thing in my garage but it is by far the best thing in my garage... As someone who cant leave anything alone, constantly driven to modify.. I must say this car is perfect, rolled off the assembly line that way and I'll be damned if anything I do to it could make it any better... In other words, this is the first car I have ever owned that I really love, just the way it is... :hahahehe:

I didnt get a manual w/the car so I am fumbling around trying to learn/figure everything out.. It took me several hours to find the hidden switch to control the radar detector alone.. so I will probably have a bunch of questions for you guys as I get frustrated and give-up trying to set this stuff up...

First question, how do I set the clock/date? I also tried following instructions for setting up HomeLink I found online but I cant seem to get it into training mode.. any advice?

Oh well, I am glad to be here and I dont plan on ever leaving :applause:

Hi Ryan,

There was a recent post to order the Owners Manual from Audi with a link -- and the price was actually not too unreasonable.

Stock the car is wonderful except for the brake pads -- change up to something better like EBC reds as stock pads start to damage the rotors at 50% of wear.

I am sure others can chime in about setting the clock/date and the HomeLink as I am somewhat pressed for time at the moment.

Congrats on the car!

The time/date took me a while too, but if i remember correctly, i THINK you hold in the left button-thing sticking out of the gauge cluster, and one of the numbers will start flashing, then you turn the button-thing left or right to decrease or increase (it barely turns at all), and then press it in to change fields between hours, minutes, day, month, etc.

What Casey said, but pull out on it. And as far as the manual, if you want, I could scan the pages and email them if you want. Unless you have your heart set on having an OEM one in the glove compartment.

Thanks everyone, just took it out for the day through the rockies.. damn this car is way more capable than I currently have the balls for.

3.0L Fully built Schimmel, Kraftwerk O2M, T04 60-1, 630cc C2 Tune and a bunch more.. pretty close to 550whp, built to handle over 600 but need a bigger turbo :-D

Snapped this photo today, I call it "Looking into the future"

sup Yokust, its been a while... Heard about your wreck, horrible damn shame.. Had no idea you had an RS6 all this time, but then again you have a ton of cool vehicles in hiding dont you? ;) Hope you find another blue one, did you get yours form booth too?

but yeah I'll take that manual from you... perhaps a few other tiny lil pieces you may be willing to part with..

and after alot of tinkering I finally set my clock, haha.. pull out on the knob instead of pushing in... should of figured it'd be backwards form my VW.. Also go homelink working thanks to the forums, the documentation off HomeLink's website is horribly wrong.

My only other question (at this time) I guess is regarding factory radio w/satnav.. I have a GROM USB (mp3 player) I took out of the VW, I think I have to order a break-out cable to hook it up to the Audi.. I dont want to pull my radio to look at plugs, can anyone confirm if this is the cable I need: http://www.gromaudio.com/store/grom_accessories/auds_audi_adapter_for_non-prewired_audi_vehicles.html

Does anyone have any idea what kind of Radar detector I have? There are no visible identifying marks on it.. You can see the sensor panel under my tag holder in the first picture... infront of my gauge cluster I have 2 teardrop LED's and under the dash there is only a "top-hat" toggle switch that lets me change volume and turn it on/off.. if there is any more to it I have yet to find where its hidden. I am trying to source a manual so I can figure out what the diffrences between the 2 LED's and see if there is a way to get it to auto-mute for city driving.

I took my dashdaq out of the GTI and was hoping I could read boost levels through generic OBDII... sadly I cannot, seems all I can get is MAF readings. Can anyone tell me what measuring blocks in vag-com show boost?

Cheers,
-Ryan

On the bottom of the B pillar there is a button. Or, just double tap the unlock switch, and it will open it.

If you're ever in the Springs let me know, there are a few RS6 owners down here.

Welcome aboard!

ah thanks, that button on the B pillar drivers door jam is busted/missing on mine.. I thought that might be the trunk release but I didnt think I'd have to open the door to unlock the trunk for passenger loading. Double taping on the unlock button works like a charm with the key in the ignition, and without it I'll use the keyfob. Thanks, I'll get a manual soon.

Anyone mind taking a photo of the climatronics page(s) of the manual? There are several buttons on there I have no idea what there for :)

I'll bring it down to the springs for DATR later this summer (I volunteer and show), and I imagine it'd be better to take the audi any time I wonder to the springs.. My rumbling VRT catches too much attention from 719's PD..

Ryan, give me your email(pm). I will go get my manual and take some pics for ya. Didnt congratulate ya yet, so there it is. I LOVE Avus now that i have one. I was looking for a darker color when searching, but i am sold.

Sounds like you have a K40 detector is my guess. Your explanation is similar to the one that is with the K40 information i got with mine, but might uses the signal light arrows. One of the dots means forward, one means rearward, and the different tones are different types of radars/lasers. That switch should also let you toggle between city and highway modes.

Casey, I figured out what kind of radar it was when I replaced the brake sensor.. your right, its a K40-2000 with the pods.. the rear sensor was tucked under the bumper and had all the info visible on it too (when laying on ur back in the driveway).. Undetectable is a pretty accurate product title :)

JSRS6, its my username @gmail.com, and thanks! Ive owned several silver cars now, quite fond of how they change mood based upon changes in surround lighting.. and the metallic base in Avus is one of the most beautiful tones Ive seen, the wife and I are still admiring all the subtle attitudes it reflects
