yeah. the ISF is faster than the R8 V10? the ISF is slower than the RS4 on any track it was ever tested on, weighs over 2 tons and has about 100 less hp. ok jap boys, i think the sushi was marinated a nit too long that day

what the F**K.

This was the 2010 IS-F, which has a new mechanical rear diff replacing the old E-diff. Every test driver has commented that it's far superior but then it still does look suspicious. Especially when it's within 1 second of a 2008 GTR.

True but then Sport Auto tests are very Germanish....;)

sorry. "looks suspicious" is the understatement of the year. that new diff would have to be God to improve singlehandedly the handling of that car thus. that is complete bulls*t.

sport auto tests are actually pretty fair and consistent- as witnessed by ring time yielded by their supertests. GTR 7:38. R8 V10 7.44. Scud 7:38. nope. you're wrong there. i am not that familiar with GENROQ, but those times are so implausible that they border on silly. reads like a japanese edmunds.

It does look wrong. The IS-F was timed at 8:03 on the 'ring by Sport Auto. Both the R8 V10 and IS-F times seem wrong but they were ran on different days and by different people too I think. The R8 V10 time seems to be a Best Motoring time, i.e. a different mag, different driver and different day, so it's apples to oranges:

The 2010 GTR, 997.2 TT and GT3 RS times were ran on the same day by the same driver. The GT2 time was the same driver on a different day. The rest of the times are just miscellaneous really. You'll have to forgive me because I copied someone else's post without researching the background.

It's doubtless that there may be some national bias, but now that we have the data in perspective, it's probably no worse than Sport Auto's.

Sport Auto tests aren't bad for comparing other, non-Porsche cars like the GTR, ZR1 and Scuderia but somehow Porsches always seem to punch a little above their weight. Since when could a GT3 RS match an LP670-4 on Hockenheim Short or beat a Scuderia on a track like that?:hihi:

911s always come near their factory time on the 'ring with them, but other cars, like the ZR1, GTR, Gumpert Apollo, Zonda F are all 9-12 seconds off. They either get very lucky with the 911s or there's some small bias. I always look for tests from non-associated countries when comparing cars usually but this makes an interesting counter to Sport Auto propaganda.
