Spare tire options

Just picked up my rs6 TODAY!! I only got to put on 20miles- tomorrow I'm off on a road trip.
About the spare- has anyone tried to relocate the battery to the well in the trunk and eliminate the spare as per European design?? The battery box in the trunk is really poorly placed.

There is no space to do that - have a look, the charcoal canister for the fuel vapour is in the centre of the wheel well, thats why quattro GmbH moved it in the first place.
Now with modern battery technology.....
