So I noticed what looked like dirt on my car about a wk ago.

Washed it yesterday, didnt come off. Took a closer look, and its looks as though the paint was chipped off. But if you run your finger or nail over it, its smooth to the touch...

Took it too the dealer, they had no clue, and said that their service dept will be in contact with me this week....oh goodie...

Its almost like the clear coat has come up from the paint....I'm confused because it looks like something has dripped on it....but there is nothing visible above my car of what could drip on it, and while the spots are heavily in a single area, they are scattered all over the rear 1/4 panel....

Anyone have any thoughts?

I am going to take some more pics to get a better idea of what I'm looking at.

This blows...

paint etching from a hazard dropped on the paint.

take a close look under fluorescent lights and you should see the clearcoat damage.

only a professional can attempt to wet sand and correct the clear coat damage. And that is not without risk.
