Well I finally got my H&R Coilovers from Europerformance in Britain and my Rotiform Mia wheels from Jeff at Supremepower which are 19x10 and wear Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's 275-30-19 tires all around. Dave calls them Steamrollers and they really are, these things are massive. Believe it or not, the tire wheel combination weighed 53lbs each. The stock RS6 rim and tire combination weighed 56lbs. So I actually reduced my unsprung weight a bit, if that means anything. I also installed Sterns adjustable upper links to keep my camber in check. Got to bring it in for the 4Wheel alignment haven't done that yet. To keep the tires of the front suspension I had to use a couple of 5mm H&R Spacers up front. I will probably get another pair for the rear just for looks, because there are no issues there. Setting the ride height is a PIA, and I am still not quite there yet. Got to drive it around a bit more to get things settled. Any way here are a few photos of the completed job. As far the suspension is concerned all I have left are the Hotchkis Sway bars and some large Brake Rotors from Grizz. And the Mods continue...............

Looks really good. Good choice on tire size. Spacers in the rears will definitely improve the looks..

Wow- That back end is cranked down. Nice pics and good luck with the continued updates!

Nice looking combo! Any fender rubbing issues out front? Where did the suspension contact occur?

Thank you Jones. Remember you were my inspiration. I'll PM you later.

Initially I couldn't even put the wheel onto the Hub, the tire was making contact with the upper portion of the wheel bearing housing. However a 5mm spacer rectified that problem. The only other issue was setting the correct ride height. There was rubbing initially but that was because the car was slammed. So now I am in the process of setting the correct height by trial and error, until there is no more rubbing. As a matter of fact I am just about at that point now. I just have to find a road with a few dips in it to really check if there is any more rubbing. Turning the wheel lock to lock and accelerating while making a U-Turn also doesn't cause any rubbing. So I am just about there.

jealous of your ride height, looking good! the palm trees tell me you're not rolling through the minefields that pass for roads up here in the great white north...

adjusting height on the H&Rs is a PITA, but it can be done without out partial removal? i seem to remember the KWs being near impossible to adjust without partial removal.

How would you say the ride is compared with stock? Smoother and less harsh? More harsh? I'm really paying attention to your setup as I have to make a decision to go with H&R or KW. Also, how much room is left to raise the car some? I'm the one who was telling you that on my S4 I had it at max ride height and it was still too low. In CO if I ran my car as low as yours in those pics I wouldn't make it 1 mile before I hit something. I will say your car looks incredible, but I still need another half inch raise all around if I put them on mine. Thanks for sharing your pics.

AudiRS4ever:
I would say the ride is no harsher than stock. Maybe a little more stiffer due to the shorter shock travel. Handling is superb even with the stock Sway bars. I still have to raise her up a little more though. The tire is still rubbing the very topmost fender liner screw when I roll over large dips in the road. Those 275-30-19's on top of those 19x10's are super wide and require quite a bit of tweaking to keep them of the fenders. I am going to remove the screw from each fender and see if that eliminates the problem. Other wise I am going have to bring her up a little. I haven't really checked but I would say that I could easily raise her another inch or so if necessary. So it would probably meet your height requirements. I will post my results as I progress.

Sweet. That's what I wanted to hear. I will definitely watch this thread to get updates when you post about the suspension. Thanks!

So... can you get at the ride-height adjustment without dismounting the coilover assembly?:vhmmm:

Yes the height can be easily adjusted without coilover dismount. It does require wheel removal and a little bit of elbow grease to turn the large threaded nut on the threaded shock body. I think I have finally reached the lowest height with no fender rubbing. I had to remove the uppermost fender liner screw on each side. Since then I have heard no more rubbing. I am still going to let the suspension settle down a little bit more before taking it for a 4 wheel alignment. Between the wide rubber and the lowered stance, the car looks insanely awesome. The pictures I have taken do it no justice. As soon as I get a chance I will post some better pictures........

With the KW's I can adjust the ride height on a drive-on lift without removing the wheels. But lifting the front or rear end while adjusting takes much of the weight off the adjustment nut and makes it much easier to turn, should be the same with the H&R's, and much less of a chance of damaging the threads.
