Funny that you posted this as I'm in Vegas this week for a conference and was just looking at the track at Pahrump, it looks pretty nice. And in the middle of knowhere.

Here are a couple videos from a RS4 guy that attended the event. Great to see him pull away from the bananna vette (notice it get unsteady in a couple turns trying to keep up) at will!

That car sounds like a DTM car. Hot damn

John is a good driver. He was just playin with the bananna car. Funny

Pat.....take a good look at this course. No better display of late apex corners. Look how the car is placed wide on entry of the corner and then comes around to just clip the apex on the far side of the corner. Perfect car placement.

This is the reason I wanted the RS4 in addition to the 6. But the damn carbon intake valve buildup killed that idea.

Pahrump is an excellent track that is a lot of fun. And yes, it IS in the middle of nowhere. ;)

I was there and enjoyed it immensely. Yeah, Pahrump isn't the center of the universe, but I actually stayed overnights at my house in Vegas--it's an easy, easy drive to and from. We used the 3.1 mile course configuration which has a two (or three, depending on car/driver) 100+ mph straights, two constant-radius sweepers in turns 1 and 2, and a ton of other, trickier stuff that's a blast once you get it figured out.

I've got some pictures, but most are just the cars in the paddock. Two R8s, plus one R8 V10 that arrived Sunday, a couple of GT2s, a Turbo Cabriolet, a deluge of S4s, two new M3s, one M coupe, well, you can see most of it on the registration list. A good number of people came straight from a Thurs-Fri event at Leguna Seca--packed their cars up on a transporter and hopped flights from Monterey to Vegas. What a life.

There are pics of the cars on trackday.net too, if you want to see some professionally done stuff.
