Looking for any opinions about the brand "FISKARS" made in Finland. Wanting to see if they are nice quality axes or not.

Any help/thoughts appreciated, thanks.

Wish I could help you mate. I did my house's lawn for about 6 years (17->23), I have to say I enjoyed it a lot when it was a fresh sunday afternoon or a sunday morning... and I didn't wake up with a hangover. Very relaxing, specially to garden without shoes...helps to get rid of all that weekly stress. Anyways, I used to buy all my things at the local Home Depot(now known as Easy), and never a special brand. Good luck mate.

Before pressing the "PostQuick Reply" button I found this :

and this http://www.gransfors.com/htm_eng/index.html

and this http://www.gerbergear.com/

aaand, finally, this http://www.americantomahawk.com/products/cqc-t.htm , they have a pretty bad ass axe.

Saludos!

My mother and father are using "Fiskars" kitchen knifes since 2000 (+- 1 year) and according to my father they are very nice and he likes using them! But I think that they are a little bit expensive for the overall quality! After all they are nice appliances.

Good to know.

Finally pulled the trigger and bought one. Damn... quite nice for the price point.

It's a good brand.

They also own Silva, for navigation etc.

Thanks Erik, tried it out and was very impressed. I have to say though, if you're not used to the "manual labor" of chopping wood, the elbow gets SUPER sore! Damn, it STILL hurts! LOL!

But was very satisfying all the same. :thumb:

And side note, I like that they are made in Finland vs China ;)
